This year's AMCM (ASEAN Advanced Automotive & Motorcycle Components Manufacturing Summit 2023) was successfully held from 25 to 26 May 2023 at Pullman Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City. The conference brings together automotive and motorbike manufacturing professionals and expert speakers to discuss the necessary developments to drive the automotive and motorbike components manufacturing and processing chain across South East Asia and Vietnam, with topics and attendees covering industries such as machine tools, precision machining tools, metal and plastic machinery, electric vehicles, automation and more.

Not only is Vietnam a prevalent country for scooters, the minibus market has grown steadily over the past five years and is expected to show a 10.45% annual growth rate (CAGR 2022-2026), with the market expected to reach US$7,008 million by 2026. The Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam is establishing a programme to develop the automotive industry ecosystem with the aim of growing the number of suppliers in Vietnam. The number of auto parts suppliers in the country is expected to reach 1,000 and 2,000 by 2025 and 2030 respectively, which could meet 70% of Vietnam's auto parts demand.

The summit concluded with a visit to Isuzu's factory in Ho Chi Minh City to showcase the complete assembly process of Isuzu commercial vehicles. With the rapid development of the Vietnamese economy in recent years, the market share of commercial trucks, especially light, medium and pick-up trucks, has been increasing year on year, and economy and product quality are key factors to remain competitive in the Southeast Asian market.
